First Sunday in Lent

As we begin the sacred season of Lent, the Gospel leads us into the desert with Jesus. After forty days of fasting and prayer, He is tempted by the devil, yet remains faithful to the will of His Father. In each temptation, Jesus responds not with fear or pride, but with trust in God’s Word.

This Gospel reminds us that Lent is our own journey into the desert. It is a time to confront distractions, strengthen our faith, and rely more deeply on God. Just as Christ overcame temptation, we too are given grace to stand firm. May this holy season renew our hearts and prepare us to celebrate the victory of Easter with joy.
