"He saw and believed."

On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb while it was still dark and found the stone rolled away. She ran to tell Peter and the beloved disciple, and they rushed to see for themselves. When they entered the tomb, they found only the burial cloths left behind. The one who arrived first went in, saw, and believed.

This Easter Sunday, we gather at St. Stanislaus Cathedral to celebrate what the disciples came to understand that morning. Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. Death could not hold Him. The promise of the prophets has been fulfilled, and new life is offered to all who believe.
