Solemnity of the Holy Family

In today’s Gospel, we see the Holy Family faced with danger, uncertainty, and displacement. Warned in a dream, Joseph rises in obedience and leads Mary and the Child Jesus into Egypt to protect Him from harm. Later, guided once again by God, Joseph brings his family safely back, settling in Nazareth according to God’s plan.

This Gospel reveals a family rooted in faith, trust, and courage. The Holy Family does not live a life free from hardship, but one guided by attentive listening to God and faithful response. As we honor the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we are reminded that holiness is lived out in daily choices, protecting one another, trusting God in times of uncertainty, and placing family life in His loving care. May our own families find strength and peace by following their example of faith and obedience.
