Mass of the Shepherds
Christmas Eve – Mass of the Shepherds (10:30 PM)
On this holy night, we gather to celebrate the Mass of the Shepherds, recalling the humble and wondrous birth of our Savior. In the Gospel according to Luke (2:1–14), we hear how Mary gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem and laid Him in a manger, for there was no room at the inn. It is to shepherds...simple and watchful that the angels first announce the Good News: “Today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you, who is Christ the Lord.”
As the angels proclaim “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests,” we are reminded that God enters the world quietly, humbly, and lovingly. This sacred liturgy invites us to step away from the noise of the world and into the stillness of the night, where Christ is born anew in our hearts.
Join us as we welcome Emmanuel, God with us, and rejoice in the light that shines in the darkness on this most holy night.
