Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Oct 26, 2025

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector who both go to the temple to pray. The Pharisee praises himself, boasting of his righteousness, while the tax collector humbly stands at a distance, beating his breast and saying, “O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” Jesus reminds us that true prayer flows from humility of heart.

Those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Let us approach God with sincere hearts, knowing that His mercy lifts up all who come before Him in honesty and faith.
